Muhammadiyah Tingkatkan Kesejahteraan Pemulung Melalui Pembangunan Rumah Produksi Pengolahan Sampah
01 Maret 2024 ● by Admin JatamBANTUL — Program kolaboratif Muhammadiyah untuk menaikan kesejahteraan kelompok Pemulung Mardiko di TPA Piyungan, Bantul melalui perbaikan lingkungan dan kesehatan dalam bentuk Rumah Produksi pengolahan sampah pada Kamis (29/2) resmi kick off.
Ketua MPM PP Muhammadiyah, M. Nurul Yamin dalam sambutannya menuturkan, program ini merupakan usaha transformasi mata pencaharian dari pemulung menjadi pengelola sampah melalui Rumah Produksi Pengolahan Sampah. Namun demikian, Yamin menyebut usaha tersebut memerlukan proses.
Selain itu, terkait dengan pemilihan nama Mardiko akronim dari Makaryo Adi Ngayogyakarta adalah untuk menjadikan kelompok pemulung jadi bagian yang membangun dan membantu budaya bersih di Yogyakarta.
“Ini sinergi semua pihak yang masih bisa saling melengkapi. Kami berharap Rumah Produksi bukan hanya untuk pengelolaan sampah, tetapi juga edukasi, transformasi dan wisata,” imbuh Yamin.
Melalui program ini Yamin berharap Muhammadiyah menjadi stakeholder yang konsisten memajukan Indonesia. Termasuk juga menyehatkan rakyatnya, menaikan kesejahteraan khususnya ekonomi bagi para pelaku usaha pengelolaan sampah.
Sementara, Wakil Ketua LAZISMU PP Muhammadiyah, Muarawati menjelaskan bahwa LAZISMU sebagai satu-satunya LAZ yang meletakkan pilar lingkungan sebagai sasaran gerakan. LAZISMU menganggap lingkungan menjadi masalah mendasar yang dihadapi oleh manusia.
“Ini yang menjadi masalah, dan bencana kalau diam saja, kalau Muhammadiyah diam saja. Perilaku kita memilah sampah sejak dari rumah akan membantu menyelematkan lingkungan,” ungkapnya.
Program ini digerakkan secara kolaboratif antara Majelis Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (MPM) PP Muhammadiyah, LAZISMU Pusat, dan Danone Indonesia. Hadir dalam acara ini juga Dinas Lingkungan Hidup DI. Yogyakarta Kusno Wibowo yang juga mendukung program peningkatan kesejahteraan ini.
Lebih spesifik dia berharap MPM PP Muhammadiyah bisa berinovasi mensejahterakan masyarakat. Salah satunya dengan membangun wisata berbasis lingkungan, khususnya pengolahan sampah. Sementara itu dukungan juga disampaikan oleh Direktur Sustainable Development Danon Indonesia, Karyanto Wibowo.
“Ini masalah yang kompleks dan harus kita selesaikan bersama-sama. Dan juga menjadi komitmen kami untuk menjadi bagian dari solusi,” katanya Karyanto.
